BMO Bank of Montreal today announced the establishment of a specialized, Halifax-based Corporate Finance Unit that will provide growth companies in Atlantic Canada with the financial expertise, opportunities and services previously available, and affordable, only to large corporate enterprises.
“Our clients will benefit significantly from full relationship management and single point of access to the vast resources and expertise of BMO Financial Group, addressing both lending and investment services such as loan underwriting, asset based lending, cash management and treasury, merger, acquisition and capital structuring advisory services,” said Carol Snider, Senior Vice-President for Atlantic Canada at BMO Bank of Montreal. The target market segment is made up of businesses experiencing rapid growth with financing needs in excess of $10 million.
“Our team of four seasoned professionals, entrusted with substantial authority, are committed to becoming trusted advisors to our corporate clients by developing solutions that are tailored to their needs and helping them achieve their corporate and strategic financial objectives,” said Richard Nadeau, Vice-President, Corporate Finance, Eastern Canada at BMO Bank of Montreal.
Since it first began targeting this market segment nearly five years ago with the establishment of a specialized Corporate Finance Unit, BMO Bank of Montreal has grown its national loan portfolio by one hundred per cent and has become a market leader. In Atlantic Canada, it has doubled its loan portfolio in the past two years. As well, BMO Bank of Montreal is the second largest small business lender in Canada and one of the largest in North America.
“At BMO Bank of Montreal, we are geared to working with growth companies that are the engines that drive Atlantic Canada’s economy and stimulate job creation in our region,” added Carol Snider.
