Message to Our Clients Concerning Power Outage in Ontario

BMO Financial Group continues to monitor the efforts of electrical utilities in Ontario and the northeastern United States to restore power generation and transmission to full capacity in the wake of last Thursday’s widespread power outage.

While power has been restored throughout the region, electrical generation and transmission systems are still not operating at full capacity. In order to avoid placing an undue strain on the recently restored power system, Ontario public authorities have requested that businesses focus on essential services. BMO has a number of initiatives underway to play our part to support this important effort.

We are also working hard to meet our customers' needs. It is our plan for the week of August 18th to provide normal hours of service in BMO Bank of Montreal Branches and Instore locations in Ontario, where power and staff are available.

Our data systems are fully functional and be assured that all client information is safe and secure and that it was not compromised during the power outage. Our ABM network is fully functional, where there is power. Debit point-of-sale, MasterCard, and online services, including Online Banking and BMO InvestorLine, have continued to function. Clients may continue to conduct any banking or direct investing transactions on www.bmo.comor www.investorline.com. Telephone banking customers can continue to call 1 800 363-9992.

BMO Financial Group and our employees value your business and thank you for your patience during this situation.
