BMO Financial Group Makes Top Canadian Employer List for Second Consecutive Year

BMO Financial Group has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the second year in a row.  BMO is the only bank on this prestigious list.

The Top 100 Employers list is published by Mediacorp Canada Inc., a publisher that specializes in employment-related issues.  The Mediacorp editorial team reviewed 51,000 Canadian employers, including not-for-profit groups and government agencies as well as private-sector companies.  From that initial group, approximately 6,000 of the fastest-growing companies were then invited to participate in an extensive application process.  These finalists were compared to their peers to avoid unfair comparisons across industries. The common thread that runs through all the finalists is that each is a leader in its industry.

“It is a great honour for us to be included on this influential list for the second year in a row,” said Rose Patten, Executive Vice-President, Human Resources and Head of the Office of Strategic Management, BMO Financial Group.  “ We are proud of our record as an employer of choice in Canada and have worked hard to make sure that BMO is well-positioned to attract and retain top talent.”

This selection acknowledges BMO’s dedication to maintaining a diverse, equitable and supportive workplace, best practices which have been acknowledged by others; Human Resources Development Canada has recognized BMO’s success in achieving diversity goals twice by presenting BMO with their prestigious Vision Award.  Earlier this year U.S.- based Training Magazine placed BMO on its Top 100 list for its dedication to learning and development.  BMO was the only Canadian organization to make the international list.

BMO’s Core Values are reflected in its dedication to maintaining a positive work-life balance for all of its employees.  These values are embedded in employee programs such as People Care Days, Flexible Work Arrangements, leaves of absence and support for employees’ volunteer activities.

BMO Financial Group is one of the largest financial services providers in North America.  BMO Financial Group serves clients across Canada and in the United States through its Canadian retail arm, BMO Bank of Montreal, through its Chicago-based Harris Bank, a major U.S. mid-west financial services organization, and through BMO Nesbitt Burns, one of Canada’s leading full-service investment firms.
