Nearly Doubling Its Presence In The Local Marketplace, BMO Bank of Montreal Opens Three In-Store Branches in St. John’s and Mount Pearl

BMO Bank of Montreal today opened three new In-Store branches in Sobeys grocery stores located at Howley Estates, Ropewalk and Mount Pearl, as part of its agreement with Sobeys Inc. to establish 80 In-Store branches in Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario.

“These new In-Store branches will provide local consumers with greater and more convenient access to our products and services when and where they want it,” said Jack Hillyard, Vice-President for Newfoundland and Labrador at BMO Bank of Montreal. Mr. Hillyard noted that this initiative is further evidence of BMO Bank of Montreal’s commitment to growing its business in St. John’s and Mount Pearl where it has invested more than 2 million dollars in recent years to modernize and enhance its branch network, creating jobs and helping customers achieve their financial objectives. “In-Stores have enabled BMO to expand its customer base, with more than 50% of customers being new BMO customers,” added Mr. Hillyard.

“The In-Stores will provide a convenient, value-added service to our customers,” said Darren Dunnett, Director of Operations, Sobeys Newfoundland.

Mike Conklin, Sales Manager, In-Store Banking, Atlantic Provinces Division, BMO Bank of Montreal, explained that In-Store branches are open seven days a week and offer customers extended hours and a wide range of BMO products and services, from personal loans and mortgages to investments such as GICs. “Our In-Stores offer convenience to fulfill the immediate financial needs of customers while drawing on the expertise available in our branch network to assist clients in meeting their longer term financial goals. Our customers can also earn AIR MILES rewards offered by BMO Bank of Montreal and Sobeys.”

Experienced, customer-focused sales people will staff the new In-Store branches under the leadership of Barb Kavanagh and David Marshall. Complemented by ABMs, BMO Bank of Montreal In-Stores will be open seven days a week during Sobey’s hours of operation:

Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The BMO Bank of Montreal In-Store branches are located at the following Sobeys stores:

10 Elizabeth Avenue, St. John’s;
45 Ropewalk Lane, St. John’s;
50 Old Placentia Road, Mount Pearl.
