BMO Financial Group Executives Address CIBC World Markets Frontenac Institutional Investor Conference

William Downe, Deputy Chair, BMO Financial Group and Robert Pearce, President and Chief Executive Officer of BMO’s Personal & Commercial Client Group, told members of the Investor Community at the CIBC World Markets Frontenac Institutional Investor Conference today that the path to growth for BMO is to build on its existing strengths including the bank’s strong credit culture and the range and depth of its services.

In Canada, Mr. Pearce said that the strength of BMO’s Canadian business, and its most distinguishing capability, is Commercial Banking and he said the bank is working hard at applying some of the lessons learned to Personal Banking, including a move toward a more robust relationship management model for BMO’s primary personal banking customers.

In the U.S., Mr. Downe said BMO is focused on materially growing its presence in the lucrative Midwest market and will lead with its personal and commercial business to drive growth in both its wealth management and investment banking businesses.
