The worldwide demand for precious and base metals is the backdrop for BMO Nesbitt Burns' 15th annual Global Resources Conference to be held from February 27 to March 1, 2006 in Tampa, Florida. A record participation of more than 200 institutional investors is expected. In total, more than 700 attendees are anticipated, including senior executives from more than 180 mining companies from six continents – Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, North America and South America.
“Investors are realizing that commodities are going to or should represent an increasingly significant part of their present and future portfolios. They are coming in record number to the Global Resources Conference to ensure they have the current information on the mining and precious metals sector, and gain key insights into the future of the industry,” said David Fleck, Executive Managing Director and Head of Institutional Sales and Trading, BMO Nesbitt Burns.
Two of the world's most sought after public speakers will be presenting keynote addresses: Donald Coxe, BMO Global Portfolio Strategist, whose recent thought-leading topics include the ‘mispricing' and valuation of mining stocks, and Robert Friedland, founder of Ivanhoe Mines and one of the most colourful personalities in modern mining history.
International access to the company presentations will be available by audio webcast throughout the three-day event. The conference will be moderated by members of BMO Nesbitt Burns' top-ranked* equity research team, including global mining analysts Geoff Stanley, Victor Lazarovici, David Mallalieu, Heather Douglas, Craig Miller, and Jay Turner. To arrange interviews with the analysts, media are invited to call (416) 867-3996. Details of a closing conference call with the analysts will be announced.
