BMO Bank of Montreal officially opened its new Kamloops branch today at an official ribbon cutting ceremony with City of Kamloops Mayor, Terry Lake.
The grand opening ceremony also served as the stage to announce BMO Financial Group's $50,000 donation to Kamloops Art Gallery with permanent naming of the Open Space Gallery. BMO's contribution to the gallery recognizes the importance that arts and culture play in the life and vibrancy of a city such as Kamloops.
The 13,700 sq. ft., two-storey branch, located in the Summit Shopping Centre at Columbia Street West and Notre Dame Drive, represents an infusion of $2.6 million into the local community. Bank of Montreal first established a branch in Kamloops in 1911 and has four branches in the city; two located in Canada Safeway stores.
“The opening of the new Kamloops Summit Shopping Centre Branch is all about enhancing customer service and product offerings to make it easier for BMO clients in Kamloops and the surrounding region to do all of their banking with just one bank…BMO,” said Sean Armstrong, Vice President, BC Interior, North & Yukon, BMO Bank of Montreal. “Our BMO staff are excited to be in new, state-of-the-art premises and eager to provide their customers with a better banking experience each and every time they walk through our doors,” added Mr. Armstrong.
The new BMO branch will have more than 50 staff members on site, including senior lenders, mortgage specialists, financial planners and BMO Nesbitt Burns advisors offering the respective products and solutions available through BMO Bank of Montreal, BMO Nesbitt Burns and BMO Harris Private Banking.
The branch location, in a major retail and commercial development, offers a central convenient location, ample free parking, an InstaBank Extra drive-through ABM and access to a variety of other stores and services. The new BMO branch has extended hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This year, BMO will renovate 30 locations and open 15 new branches across Canada to make it more convenient for our customers to manage their finances.
