Royal Victoria Hospital Gets a "Credit" Boost from BMO BMO Credit Card Program to Help Build Cancer Centre in Barrie

The Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) and BMO Bank of Montreal today launched an innovative credit card program to help raise funds for the Simcoe-Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.

Under the program, for each new RVH-affiliated Mosaik MasterCard that a customer activates and uses, BMO Bank of Montreal will donate between $100 and $125 to the hospital's Phase 1 expansion project, which includes the long awaited cancer centre. The BMO Mosaik MasterCard program is unique in that it will generate almost immediate financial returns to the RVH.

"Our RVH card program provides a fast and simple approach to raising funds for the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre," said Frank Berdan, District Vice-President for BMO Bank of Montreal. “The real advantage of this new program is that it will allow residents of Barrie and the surrounding area who wish to help their hospital to do so just by applying for and using a feature-rich credit card that in all likelihood they would have chosen already.”

"BMO Bank of Montreal has been a leader in its support for the hospital and for our “I believe” campaign to raise funds for the expansion and new Cancer Centre,” said David Blenkarn, chair of both the RVH Foundation and its capital campaign. “We are confident this new initiative will not only generate significant funds for the hospital but also goodwill within the community.”

Applications for the RVH-related BMO Mosaik MasterCard are available at the hospital and at any of the 13 BMO Bank of Montreal branches located in Barrie, Bracebridge, Huntsville, Haliburton, Orillia, Collingwood, Midland, Bradford, and Alliston.

The BMO Mosaik MasterCard offers all the traditional benefits of a BMO Mosaik MasterCard such as the flexibility to choose from a variety of rewards and features such as AIR MILES and CashBack reward programs, a low interest rate, and special travel features.

The new program, which will run for six months, is just the latest initiative in BMO Bank of Montreal's long history of outstanding support for Royal Victoria Hospital. BMO remains the title sponsor of the hospital's annual 'Crystal Classic' fundraiser, has raised more than $100,000 for the hospital with its popular “I believe” blue wristband campaign and recently announced a $500,000 pledge commitment to the Simcoe-Muskoka Cancer Centre Campaign.
