Media Advisory BMO Bank of Montreal Donates $15,000 to ‘Every Life Counts' to Celebrate Grand Opening of New Chatham Branch

On Saturday, June 16, BMO Bank of Montreal will celebrate the official grand opening of its new Chatham branch by making a $15,000 donation to the ‘Every Life Counts' campaign. Shae-Lynn Bourne, former world figure skating champion and Honorary Chair of ‘Every Life Counts' will be on hand to sign autographs and talk with BMO customers and community neighbours who are invited to join the celebration.

BMO's donation to the ‘Every Life Counts' campaign will help recruit physicians for the more than twenty thousand Chatham-Kent area residents who currently do not have access to a family physician. The ‘Every Life Counts' campaign, launched in November 2005, is designed to raise funds to support costs associated with the recruitment and relocation of the needed 19 Specialists and 9 family physicians across Chatham-Kent, as well as to expand the Rosemarie Miller Scholarship Program which provides educational grants to medical students from the area. The campaign has helped recruit four specialists and one family physician since its launch in 2005.

BMO invites customers and fans to come by and meet Ms. Bourne, who will sign autographs and pose for pictures. There will also be a complementary BBQ and a draw to win one of many great prizes.

“BMO has a long history of community support and employee volunteerism,” said Heather Brushett, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. “Many of our employees are actively involved in organizations throughout Chatham. This grand opening and donation to ‘Every Life Counts' provides a wonderful opportunity to welcome customers to our new location, meet new neighbours and to show our appreciation and support for the organizations that mean so much to the health and well-being of this vibrant community.”
