BMO to Make Donation to Mon Sheong Foundation to Celebrate Grand Opening of New Scarborough Branch Traditional Chinese Lion Dance to kick-off festivities

BMO Bank of Montreal is donating more than $12,000 to the Mon Sheong Foundation to celebrate the grand opening of its new bank branch in Scarborough at 2330 Kennedy Road. This donation is the last instalment of BMO's total pledge of $62,500 in support of the Mon Sheong Richmond Hill Long Term Care Capital Campaign. The donation has helped to build the long-term care facility in Richmond Hill which provides services for seniors and non-seniors in need with physical and neurological impairment, or older couples and seniors affected by dementia. In addition residents receive round the clock emergency medical services that are provided to help minimize the risk of delayed medical attention.

The Mon Sheong Foundation is a Canadian registered charitable organization, dedicated to the promotion of Chinese culture, heritage, language and philosophy through caring for the elderly, encouraging the young and providing programs and services in response to the needs of their communities.

“BMO's grand opening and our donation provide a wonderful opportunity for us to welcome customers to their new branch, meet neighbours and to show our appreciation and support for the organizations that mean so much to the well-being of our community,” said Kim Lee, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal.

“Customers will be welcomed by experienced financial services professionals and investment specialists who can provide clear financial advice and solutions to help them make the right decisions with their money,” said Alex Dousmanis-Curtis, SVP Greater Toronto Division, BMO Bank of Montreal. “All across Toronto, we're inviting customers from other financial institutions to come into one of our branches and talk to a mortgage specialist about how we can help you with Toronto's Land Transfer Tax. BMO will pay the new land transfer tax on behalf of its customers when they arrange a mortgage by February 29, 2008.”

“Plus if you're one of the 9 million AIR MILES collectors in Canada, we have another reason for you to bank with BMO. Now our customers can collect AIR MILES reward miles whenever and wherever they make purchases using their BMO Bank of Montreal debit card,” noted Mr. Lee. “We're unique in the marketplace, no other bank can help you collect faster and redeem quicker and we are the only major financial institution that rewards debit purchases with access to a comprehensive choice of more than 800 reward and travel options, added Mr. Lee.
