Olympic medalists and Canadian figure skating legends Shae-Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz will help William Russell of White Rock shop at the Cyclone Taylor Skate Store on Saturday morning. Mr. Russell was the VIP prize winner of a local BMO branch contest held last December in conjunction with the BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships being held January 16 – 20 at the PNE in Vancouver.
A BMO Mosaik MasterCard, pre-loaded with $1,000, will help with the shopping spree and is just one component of the prize that William Russell, a naturopathic physician, was awarded. His VIP prize package from BMO includes two tickets to attend Friday's 2008 BMO Canadian Championships, seated with Bourne and Kraatz; and an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour.
Mr. Russell expressed enthusiasm for his VIP prize package win, saying, “I plan on taking my wife Lora on the shopping spree and maybe Shae-Lynn and Victor can give me some figure skating tips so I can perform some great moves to score more goals on my Langley men's hockey league team!”
Bourne and Kraatz, Honorary Chairs, are ten-time Canadian Champions, and 2003 World Ice Dance Champions. They are inspirational role models for young aspiring skaters and have represented Canada proudly in the sport of figure skating.
