BMO Employees Raise More than $2.6 Million for United Way of Greater Toronto

Employees of BMO Capital Markets, BMO Nesbitt Burns and BMO InvestorLine have raised more than $2.6-million for the United Way of Greater Toronto and other charities.

The 2007 campaign involved approximately 1,600 BMO employees in the Toronto area who participated in special events and donated their time and money.

“Once again our employees have translated their commitment to community into action through their tremendous support of our annual BMO Employee Charitable Foundation/United Way campaign,” said Bill Butt, Head of the BMO Capital Markets Canadian and International Investment and Corporate Banking Group.

"Thank you to everyone for their contributions and outstanding support for those in need. Through these funds we will collectively make a dramatic, positive impact on our community,” said Connie Stefankiewicz, President and CEO, BMO InvestorLine.

"United Way is extremely appreciative of BMO's commitment to our annual campaign - for their generous fundraising efforts, and their time and energy dedicated to building stronger, healthier communities for everyone," said Frances Lankin, President and CEO, United Way of Greater Toronto. "BMO's contributions provide support to United Way's network of 200 health and social service agencies, enabling United Way to maximize its impact across Toronto."

For more than 187 years, BMO Financial Group has believed in community reinvestment and corporate and social responsibility in the communities it serves. In 2007, BMO contributed $50.4 million in donations, sponsorships and events in Canada and the United States to groups, organizations and programs that help build and sustain resilient, vital and healthy communities.
