EDMONTON, AB, February 2, 2009 – BMO Bank of Montreal today opened a new 5,530 square foot personal and commercial banking branch in the south area of the city to service the established and expanding residential and commercial area of St. Albert.
The new BMO branch represents an investment of $1.6 million in the St. Albert community. The branch is located at 2 Hebert Road in the Gateway Village Shopping Centre, and is easily accessible by car, right off St. Albert Trail.
The branch is home to a team of 15 personal banking and investment professionals who are eager to provide a great customer experience to all new and existing BMO customers.
“We are committed to making money make sense for every one of our customers, by bringing clarity to the complexities of money,” said Linda McLeod, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. “To highlight our commitment to excellence in customer service we are offering a $100 cash deposit to all new customers who open a new chequing account between February 2 and March 2 and complete the PowerSwitch by March 31, 2009.”
Customers can expect:
- A highly experienced team of in-house experts including personal and commercial banking managers, financial services representatives, and a mortgage specialist;
- Access to commercial account and deposit services;
- Two Instabank automated banking machines (ABM), including a drive-through ABM;
- Ample free parking for BMO customers; and
- Full wheelchair accessibility.

BMO's Gateway Village branch is the 16th branch in Alberta to have Green Energy. It will receive its electricity from Bullfrog Power, which provides homes and businesses in Ontario and Alberta with electricity generated from clean, renewable sources like wind power and low-impact hydro. BMO has purchased 5,000 Megawatt Hours per year of clean, emission-free electricity from Bullfrog Power.
The Gateway Village BMO branch's hours of operation are:
- 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Wednesday;
- 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays; and
- 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays
The branch will hold a grand opening ceremony on Saturday, May 9, 2009.
