BMO Nesbitt Burns Shows Commitment to Women in Capital Markets With Exclusive Sponsorship of Executive Coaching Award Program
TORONTO,
March 4, 2009 – BMO Nesbitt Burns reinforces its commitment
to Women in Capital Markets (WCM) as the exclusive sponsor for its 2009
Executive Coaching Award Program. Now in its second year, this innovative
program provides career coaching and development services from Knightsbridge
Human Capital Solutions to qualified senior women working in the capital
markets in Canada.
“While many women in the Canadian capital markets have already
achieved success in their career, the executive coaching experience offers
them a chance to further enhance their skills. We are truly grateful
to BMO Nesbitt Burns for their continuous support and sponsorship of
the WCM Executive Coaching Award Program,” said Murina Chan, President,
WCM.
“During this time of economic uncertainty, it is more important
than ever to develop, recognize and celebrate success, as it can be that
much more challenging to achieve it. In a downsizing environment, finding
ways to remain competitive and motivated is critical. Leadership becomes
even more important as a result, and the Executive Coaching Award Program
provides our participants with the tools necessary to effectively lead
their organizations through these challenging times,” added Chan.
The 2009 program will officially launch on March 5th at a cocktail reception
where those interested in learning more or applying for the award, will
have the opportunity to hear from various guest speakers about the benefits
of coaching.
"My career coaching experience was fantastic. My coach was integral
in helping me manage my new role at Citigroup and I have learned life
skills that will help me throughout my future career," said Carrie
Freeborough, past award recipient and Former Head of Canadian Sales Trading
- Citigroup Global Markets Canada Inc.
This unique program is directed only to applicants with a minimum of
10 years experience and who have already achieved significant success
in their careers. Candidates must be currently employed in the Canadian

“It is clear we must make every effort to ensure that competent
and talented women get a fair chance to reach the top rungs of the corporate
ladder. Even in the most progressive organizations, the continual promotion
of women must remain a priority. We know this can't be accomplished
single-handedly – that's why this program is so important,” said
Charyl Galpin, Chief Operating Officer, BMO Nesbitt Burns. “This
unique award is especially important to BMO Nesbitt Burns – we
are committed to being a leader in diversity and workplace equity and
