Hamilton, ON, May 11, 2009 – BMO Bank of Montreal today opened the doors to its 13th full-service branch in the greater Hamilton area, located at 2170 Rymal Rd. E.

“We are pleased to be a part of the Hamilton community”, said Joseph Lavadinho, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. “With a dedicated team of professionals, we're motivated to deliver an exceptional customer experience.”

The new Rymal Rd. E. and Terryberry branch is staffed by 13 personal banking and investment professionals, including a BMO Nesbitt Burns investment advisor, financial planner and mortgage specialist, ready to serve new and existing BMO customers in 12 languages.

"Current market conditions and BMO's recent mortgage rate reductions create a favourable environment for customers looking to buy a home," said Mr. Lavadinho.  “We are eager to provide the right advice so they can feel confident in their home buying experience. For first-time homebuyers, BMO has introduced the BMO First Home Essentials Kit which provides a step-by-step guide for entering the real estate market.”

“Hamilton has traditionally boasted a highly industrial economy, but a recent trend toward more diversity is encouraging,” said Robert Kavcic, Economist, BMO Capital Markets. “Health care and education are gaining a prominent role in the city, with Hamilton Health Sciences now the largest employer, and McMaster University seeing growth. This should help the Hamilton economy better weather future downturns.”

“If you're one of the millions of AIR MILES collectors in Canada, we have another reason for you to bank with BMO,” said Andrew Furgal, Vice-President, Hamilton District, BMO Bank of Montreal. “No other bank can help you collect faster and redeem more quickly because we are the only major financial institution that rewards debit and credit card purchases, including online purchases, with access to a comprehensive choice of more than 800 reward and travel options,” Mr. Furgal added.
