BMO Bank of Montreal Celebrates Half Century in Willowdale with Opening of New Branch
- Original branch, opened in 1960, relocated to newer building to better serve the needs of the community; investment of $1.6 million
- BMO continues to offer five-year fixed mortgage at 3.99 per cent to help Canadians become mortgage-free faster
- Personal banking professionals can provide financial services advice in eight languages
NORTH YORK, July 26, 2010 – BMO Bank of Montreal opens the doors today to its new Willowdale branch at 5522 Yonge St., less than a kilometre away from its original location at 5925 Yonge St.
"Our new and existing customers will benefit from the same familiar faces and a knowledgeable staff who provide a tailored banking experience and help bring clarity to financial decisions," said Alicia Abballe, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal.
Ms. Abballe leads a team of 10 staff, including a BMO Nesbitt Burns investment advisor, who can make money make sense in eight languages: English, Cantonese, Farsi, Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Russian and Tamil.
The new branch offers longer hours and will operate from:
Monday to Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursday & Friday 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
With a long and proud history of 50 years in the Willowdale community, staff at the new location will continue to help customers make the right decisions with their money and financial plans, including home financing.

Official branch opening celebrations will be held on August 28, 2010.
