BMO Congratulates Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario on its 90th Anniversary

Niagara Falls, October 20, 2010 – BMO Financial Group today congratulated the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) on the occasion of its 90th anniversary as the Association opened its annual meeting in Niagara Falls.

The IBAO is a not-for-profit organization that serves the interests of more than 11,500 independent insurance brokers in Ontario.   BMO Financial Group has been working to provide brokers with the right banking tools to thrive in Ontario.

“Insurance brokers are active in communities throughout Ontario, and we congratulate the IBAO and its members for their important contribution to the province over the last 90 years,” said John Knotek, National Manager, Insurance Broker Services, BMO Bank of Montreal. “General insurance underpins much of the province's economy, providing necessary security for consumers and businesses.  Insurance brokers play an important role in navigating the complexity of options in the market and matching the right insurance with the right need.

“Brokers' business financial needs are many and varied,” said Knotek. “At BMO, our bankers understand how a brokerage business operates and we can help them get the best value for their banking dollar.”

“BMO has a long history of doing business with brokers,” said Randy Carroll, Chief Executive Officer, IBAO.   “BMO has kept up with the trends in our industry and understands the needs of insurance brokers and where brokerages are headed. We would like to express our thanks for the partnership and the continued support of these businesses and brokers throughout the years. ”
