Media AdvisoryBroadcast Feed to be Availalbe - BMO Financial Group and Perimeter Institute Announcement at 5:45pm EST

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, November 29, 2010 – Bill Downe, CEO of BMO Financial Group, Mike Lazaridis, Founder and Board Chair of Perimeter Institute and Neil Turok, Director of Perimeter Institute (PI), will make a special announcement on the new BMO Financial Group Isaac Newton Chair in Theoretical Physics at Perimeter Institute.  This represents the largest single donation ever made by BMO to support science. It is also the largest corporate donation received by PI in its ten-year history.

Theoretical physics is an area of study that expands upon our understanding of the laws of nature, thereby underpinning all of science and technology.   It provides the fundamental knowledge to explore, experiment and innovate as society moves into the future.

This unprecedented investment by BMO Financial Group will establish the first of five PI research chairs – named for Isaac Newton, James Clerk Maxwell, Albert Einstein,  Niels Bohr, and Paul Dirac - and help propel a ‘brain gain' to Canada as Perimeter Institute brings together many of the world's top scientists under one roof in Waterloo, Ontario.

A pool feed of the entire announcement will be available on Monday, Nov. 29th from 5:45 to 6:15pm EST.  Below are the satellite coordinates for this broadcast feed.
