TORONTO,
December 2, 2010 – The
Institute for Research on Public Policy is hosting a working-lunch,
entitled, “A Snapshot of Canada, 2010” on
Friday, December 3 in Toronto. Mel Cappe, President of the IRPP,
and Policy Options Editor L. Ian MacDonald will be joined by speakers
Hon. Kevin Lynch (Vice-chair, BMO Financial Group, and former Clerk
of the Privy Council), and Nik Nanos (President and CEO, Nanos Research).
As the world struggles out of the most serious economic crisis since
the Great Depression, Canada stands out as a model of financial stability,
and leads the G7 in terms of GDP growth and job creation. Nonetheless,
challenges persist, such as the federal deficit and sluggish productivity
growth. Kevin Lynch will present compelling evidence that Canada has
come out of the recession in better shape than any of its G7 partners.
Nik Nanos will present the findings of his annual Mood of Canada poll
for Policy Options.
Both speakers contributed to the December-January issue of Policy
Options,
whose cover package is entitled “The Year in Review 2010.”
