As part of its nationwide youth soccer program, BMO Financial Group today announced the second 2012 BMO Team of the Week winner. The Kleinberg Nobleton SC 2000 Lions - a group of U-12 boys from Kleinberg, Ontario - were recognized for their strong team spirit and efforts within the community.
"Congratulations to our second BMO Team of the Week, the KNSC Boys 2000 Lions," said Curtis Scragg, GTA North District Vice-President, BMO Bank of Montreal. "I'm excited to recognize a team that is not only supported by coaches who encourage strong player development, but also a group of boys who have achieved significant feats off the field. Their community involvement and support of each other as teammates is something the entire community can be proud of."
The KNSC Boys 2000 Lions are the second of fifteen youth soccer teams (age 7-12) across Canada to be selected as weekly winners based on team pride, spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. The winners will then vie for the title of BMO Team of the Week 2012 Champion, to be selected by the Canadian public. Online voting will begin on August 13.
"We're not just a team; we're a second family. Our spirit is not defined by wins and losses alone," said Gennaro Lombardi, Coach of the KNSC Boys 2000 Lions. "This team of young boys came together five seasons ago through a love of soccer and ended up being a support system for each other. We're a family both on and off the field and we'll continue to represent Kleinberg as this week's BMO Team of the Week."
