BMO InvestorLine Celebrates 25 Years of Providing Award-Winning Investing Service to Canadians

September 2013 also marks the first anniversary of BMO InvestorLine's industry-first adviceDirect virtual investment advisor service

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 27, 2013) - BMO InvestorLine today celebrates its 25th anniversary of providing award-winning self-directed investment service to Canadians.

"We're very proud of all that we have accomplished over the last quarter-century as we support an ever-increasing number of Canadians who choose to invest online," said Viki Lazaris, President and CEO, BMO InvestorLine. "Over the last two and a half decades, we've become leaders through our superior client service, strong investor education, and research and selection tools. We look forward to continuing to offer our service to Canadian investors through the next 25 years and beyond."

For 14-straight years, The Globe and Mail's annual online brokers' survey has consistently ranked BMO InvestorLine as one of Canada's top bank-owned online brokerages. Moreover, in the latest IPSOS Reid Discount Brokerage Report, BMO InvestorLine was ahead of its peers in client satisfaction and the ability to meet client needs.

BMO InvestorLine's adviceDirect Marks One Year

September 2013 also marks the first anniversary of the introduction of BMO InvestorLine's adviceDirect. The first service of its kind in Canada, adviceDirect is a ground-breaking and personalized service that provides online investing advice. It puts investors in control by providing specific buy and sell recommendations to help them manage their portfolios and feel more secure in their decisions.

The new service has been well received by Canadian investors and has already been recognized for innovation, effectiveness and presentation of technology at the Morningstar Canadian Investment Awards. "We're committed to using technology to enhance the experience of online investors, whether through the introduction of innovative new services such as adviceDirect, or through ongoing enhancements to our award winning self-directed service," said Ms. Lazaris.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary, BMO InvestorLine will be launching a contest in October that encourages young Canadians to share "how technology past, present and future will help them be better investors". The top four entries, as determined by a BMO panel of judges, will receive $2,500 which can help defray education costs. Contest details will be posted in the upcoming weeks on bmoinvestorline.com.

"We're thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone with our clients by continuing our ongoing commitment to educating our clients and making it easier for them to be successful online investors, no matter their age," added Ms. Lazaris. "Looking forward, BMO InvestorLine will continue to play a leading role in the evolution of the online investing landscape in Canada - not only by offering a broad range of tools and research, but also through efforts to improve our clients' online investing experience and help them to make informed and confident investing decisions," concluded Ms. Lazaris.
