TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 20, 2014) - BMO InvestorLine today announced that it will be making enhancements to 5 Star - one of its Self-Directed service incentive programs - as it continues to add more value to the client experience by providing Canadian investors with access to more research resources and leading-edge tools.

Active traders - clients who complete 30 or more trades per quarter - will now have access to a number of 5 Star features, including:

  • Priority call access to the dedicated 5 Star relationship team
  • Access to expert research
  • Discounts on live agent trades and on non-trade transactions
  • Preferred interest rates

Also, there are now two ways to qualify for the 5 Star program. In addition to their account asset amount, clients can now qualify by the number of trades they make per quarter:

  • Silver Star - minimum $250,000 in account assets
  • Gold Star - minimum $500,000 in account assets or 30-149 trades per quarter
  • Platinum Star - minimum $10,000,000 in account assets or 150+ trades per quarter

"The expansion of our 5 Star program demonstrates our ongoing commitment to evolving our Self-Directed service and to streamlining our offerings to provide a better experience for our customers," said Julie Barker-Merz, President, BMO InvestorLine. "More Self-Directed clients, including those who trade actively, will now be able to take advantage of prime rates, exclusive online research and educational tools that can help them make better informed investing decisions."

BMO InvestorLine is also launching the BMO Market Pro platform, which will allow investors to stream real-time market data, news and analysis and to create a customized web-based dashboard and interface for a workspace that suits their needs. Available to 5 Star clients with Gold or Platinum status, the BMO Market Pro platform will provide leading-edge tools and easy-to-use resources to help them stay on top of the markets.

New Enhancements for All Self-Directed Clients

BMO InvestorLine has introduced Quick Trade, a new feature that helps all Self-Directed clients make fast and easy trades. Clients can trade all types of investments easily by accessing a trade ticket at the top of every page on the BMO InvestorLine website.

The launch of Quick Trade and the BMO Market Pro platform, as well as the enhancement of the 5 Star program, are examples of BMO InvestorLine's commitment to enriching the online investing experience. These new enhancements are preceded by several recent offerings that BMO InvestorLine has made for its Self-Directed clients. Earlier this year, it announced a $9.95 flat trading fee, Traditional and Simplified Chinese-language websites and an incentive offer for young Canadians (aged 18-35) designed to encourage them to begin investing sooner.
