BMO InvestorLine First to Communicate Directly to Investors with Timely, Customized Messages Specific to Their Portfolios MyLink provides investors with secure and personalized information to help them make more informed investing decisions

Online investors looking for direction in today's increasingly complex and volatile markets can now receive tailored and timely information that is relevant to their own portfolios with BMO InvestorLine's new MyLink service. BMO InvestorLine is the first online brokerage in Canada to offer a service that sends personalized messages directly to individual investors.

Investors will be sent private messages to a secure personal inbox on BMO InvestorLine's website. Messages will be customized based on each investors' holdings, helping them to keep on top of their portfolio. This could include fixed income expiry notices, order expiry notices, GIC maturity notices, and notifications regarding analyst rating changes on their holdings.

“We want to ensure that our clients increase their odds of success by taking advantage of all the opportunities available to them,” said Connie Stefankiewicz, President and CEO, BMO InvestorLine. “We are supporting clients with one-to-one personalized communication to help them proactively manage their portfolios. MyLink ensures investors are engaged and equipped with the information and insights needed to make sound investing decisions.

“For example, we will be able to provide portfolio rebalancing, asset mix and asset rebalancing notices for those clients who wish to take advantage of this new service. Investors will automatically receive a message when their portfolio needs to be rebalanced detailing how the asset mix is out of line with the client's plan, along with the option of rebalancing immediately,” added Stefankiewicz.

MyLink will also feature secure and prompt online communication with BMO InvestorLine representatives as well as a direct link to tools and resources to help clients make more informed investment decisions. To notify clients about time sensitive information, messages will also be sent via personal email alerting them to check their MyLink inbox.

“According to research group, Investor Economics, the online investing industry is expected to grow at an annual rate of 7.9 per cent. With the launch of portfolio support services such as MyLink, I anticipate that number will be significantly higher as it will open the door to a wider range of investors who want control over their investments, but with an added layer of support and discipline,” stated Stefankiewicz.
