Media Advisory - One of the Oldest Businesses in the Elbow Park Community, the BMO Bank of Montreal Branch, to Celebrate 75th Anniversary

On Monday, June 16, the BMO Bank of Montreal branch at Elbow Park will celebrate its 75^th Anniversary. The BMO branch first opened in 1928 to service the area’s growing commercial and residential population.

Today, the BMO bank is known as one of the oldest businesses in the community and many of its original customers are still regular visitors. In fact, the only time since opening that the branch didn’t provide direct service to the community was during the war years when it temporarily closed to accommodate the government’s request to help alleviate the local workforce shortage.

The branch is currently located at 2302 - 4^th Street SW where it moved in 1959.

Members of the community and the media are welcome to attend the celebration at the branch on Monday, June 16, 2003, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
