BMO Investments Inc. Announces BMO Mutual Fund Mergers  

 

BMO Investments Inc. today announced the following proposed mutual fund mergers, to be effective on or about November 28, 2003:

  • BMO Far East Fund and BMO Latin American Fund will be merged into BMO Emerging Markets Fund
  • BMO RSP Japanese Fund, BMO RSP European Fund, BMO RSP Global Financial Services Fund and BMO RSP Global Balanced Fund will be merged into BMO RSP International Index Fund
  • BMO RSP Global Opportunities Fund, BMO RSP Global Health Sciences Fund, BMO RSP Global Technology Fund and BMO RSP Nasdaq Index Fund will be merged into BMO RSP Global Science & Technology Fund
  • BMO Global Financial Services Class, BMO Global Health Sciences Class and BMO Global Technology Class will be merged into BMO Global Opportunities Class.

Upon completion of these mergers, BMO Global Opportunities Class will change its name to “BMO Global Equity Class”.  All of these funds are part of BMO Global Tax Advantage Funds Inc., a mutual fund corporation.

Each of the above mergers is subject to securityholder and regulatory approval, where applicable.  Meetings of securityholders for the relevant funds will be held on or about November 10, 2003.

AllianceBernstein Institutional Investment Management will become the portfolio manager for BMO Emerging Markets Fund and for BMO Japanese Fund effective December 1, 2003.  AllianceBernstein is currently the portfolio manager for BMO European Fund.

BMO Investments Inc., a financial services firm and separate entity from Bank of Montreal, is a member of BMO Financial Group and part of the organization’s Private Client Group.  The Private Client Group provides integrated wealth management services in Canada and the United States and has total assets under management and administration and term investments of $281 billion at July 31, 2003.
