BMO Bank of Montreal held a Grand Opening ceremony today to officially launch a new branch in North Whitby.

BMO officials celebrated the event with the presentation of a $50,000 donation towards the construction of the Abilities Centre Durham, a recreation centre for people with special needs.

“BMO Bank of Montreal has a strong tradition of supporting the communities in which it does business,” said Ian Hamilton, Vice President of East Central Ontario, BMO Bank of Montreal.  “We hope other members of the local business community will join us in supporting this important campaign which will truly make a difference to the quality of life for many people in Durham Region.”

The new 14 person BMO Bank of Montreal branch represents a $3.2 million investment by BMO in the Whitby community.  The branch is located at 3960 Brock Street North in Whitby.
