BMO Financial Group's U.S. Investment Banking Group Harris Nesbitt Broadens Equity Capital Markets Expertise with Key Hire  

Harris Nesbitt, the U.S. investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group, announced today that it has hired Carlos Conde as Executive Managing Director and head of the U.S. Equity Capital Markets Group.

Based in the firm's New York office, Mr. Conde will be responsible for building and developing Harris Nesbitt's equity capital markets business. He will spearhead the firm's effort to provide innovative capital raising solutions for its growing base of mid-market clients.

"Carlos brings considerable leadership and experience in building equity capital markets presence in a full service investment banking firm," said Peter Myers, Executive Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets in Toronto. "His knowledge will be a great asset in helping to provide our corporate clients with a full range of equity based solutions."

Mr. Conde has more than 16 years of experience in Equity Capital Markets and Investment Banking. Most recently, he was the Head of European Equity Capital Markets for Societe General Group in London. Prior to that, Mr. Conde was Managing Director and Co-Head of European Equity Capital Markets at JP Morgan Securities. He started his career at Salomon Brothers Inc. He has a BA in Government from Clark University and is a Fulbright scholar.

Mr. Conde is the latest key hire to join Harris Nesbitt. Within the last three months the firm has steadily grown its pool of talent. In January, the firm expanded its capabilities in asset-backed securities with the addition of a six-person team in Dallas and last month it bolstered its high yield business with the hiring of three managing directors to its sales, trading and research teams.
