BMO Nesbitt Burns confirmed today that it has entered into a settlement agreement with Investment Dealers Association staff, subject to approval at a hearing on December 16, 2004. The settlement will not materially impact BMO Financial Group's financial statements.

BMO Nesbitt Burns will not comment further until the IDA panel has considered the settlement agreement.
