BMO Financial Group and BMO Fountain of Hope Donate $30,000 to Assist Alberta Flood Victims
BMO Financial Group and BMO Fountain of Hope today announced a joint contribution of $30,000 to help the Canadian Red Cross Provincial Disaster Response Team in its relief efforts for the flood victims in South and Central Alberta.
“We want to assist Albertans who were impacted by this natural disaster, and we hope our corporate donation of $25,000 will help alleviate the difficulties being faced by the flood victims and the community,” said Ted McCarron, Senior Vice-President for Prairies Division at BMO Bank of Montreal.
Additionally, BMO Fountain of Hope, the Employees’ Foundation of BMO Financial Group, is contributing $5,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with the relief effort and the clean up after the floods in Alberta.
“We hope this support by BMO employees will help those residents in Alberta who need assistance following the floods,” said Barry Sydenham who represents Alberta on the national board of directors of BMO Fountain of Hope. “This reflects the level of caring of our employees across the country.”

BMO Financial Group contributed more than $29 million in corporate donations, sponsorships and events in 2004, supporting thousands of communities, charities and not-for-profit organizations in Canada.
BMO Fountain of Hope is the national association of employees and pensioned employees of BMO Financial Group, dedicated to improving the lives of those in need by supporting registered charities in their communities. Founded in 1999, BMO Fountain of Hope raised a record total of $7.2 million in Canada during its 2004 fundraising campaign, with the funds distributed to more than 2,300 charities.
