The Life & Arts Festival is gaining momentum in Kelowna with today's announcement that BMO Bank of Montreal has signed on as the title sponsor for the Life & Arts Festival Village. This third annual celebration of the arts takes place May 12-14, 2006.
“We are thrilled that BMO Bank of Montreal is partnering with us as a major sponsor, and we commend them for their vision and faith in the Festival,” says Dorothee Birker, Artistic Director for the Life & Arts Festival. “It's through corporate partnerships, like this, that we are able to continue to provide high calibre, exciting programming for the Festival, and to keep the majority of experiences free and accessible for the whole community.”
The BMO Bank of Montreal Festival Village is the heart of the Life & Arts Festival; a buzzing hub of activity where people can gather for festival events, explore the arts and experience a dazzling array of performances. The concept for the festival is to have a fun, family-oriented event that offers an eclectic mix of visual and performing arts, music, live theatre, street performances and experiences that will appeal to a wide audience from young children to seniors.
“At BMO Bank of Montreal, we are excited to be involved in an event that celebrates and supports the work of so many gifted artists and entertainers,” says Sean Armstrong, Vice President, B.C. Interior, North and Yukon District. “And our employees are equally pleased to be involved in a festival that creates such a feeling of life and vitality in our downtown core,” added Armstrong.
The Life & Arts Festival showcases the best entertainers in the Okanagan - bringing many artists, acts and audiences together in Kelowna's Cultural District. The BMO Bank of Montreal Festival Village encompasses this concept perfectly, since at any time during the three days of the Festival, you can find some fantastic, diverse and wonderful activities and entertainment in which to take part and to experience.
The Life & Arts Festival is a multi-discipline arts festival that was initiated by the City of Kelowna to celebrate the arts and takes place annually on the Mother's Day weekend in Kelowna's Cultural District.
