BMO Capital Markets to Host the “EMERGING MUSIC SUMMIT”, an Investor Conference Focusing on Innovation in Digital Music Markets

BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (NYSE, TSX: BMO), will host the eMerging Music Summit on Thursday, August 10th, from 8:45 am – 3:00 pm EDT, in the Reuters Building in New York City. Created for media investors, this one-day conference will provide intensive exposure to the dynamics of Music and Audio Entertainment markets in transition.  The agenda offers a forum for leading innovators in the online music industry to showcase their efforts.

Leland Westerfield, senior internet media analyst for BMO Capital Markets, will host the conference, offering insights into the more promising innovations in mobile music and other online ventures.

Fourteen speakers will participate throughout the day at the eMerging Music Summit, addressing the digital music markets from a broad range of perspectives. Presentations and panels will address:

During the panel discussions, Washington lobbyist DiMA and prominent copyright attorneys will examine copyright rules governing emerging on-line music outlets, and the potential impact of legislation now pending in Congress, including Net Neutrality and the music license reform bill (Section 115 Act).

During lunch, Consumer Electronics panelists from MusicGremlin and Polk Audio will showcase their latest consumer electronic devices, alternatives to the iPod and advancement to traditional analog radio.
