Pallium Investment Management Hires Max F. Roberts as Chief Investment Officer

Pallium Investment Management LLC (“PIM”), the company established by BMO Financial Group (BMO) and industry veterans Flavio Bartmann and Conrad Voldstad, today announced that it has hired Max F. Roberts as its Chief Investment Officer.

PIM is a partnership between BMO and Bartmann and Voldstad created to provide an alternative for institutional investors who want to participate in the credit markets without making direct investments in the required infrastructure, risk management and expert resources.

“The addition of a Chief Investment Officer is a major milestone in our plan to build our structured credit asset management business,” said Paul Stevenson, Executive Managing Director, BMO Capital Markets.  “With BMO as its partner, PIM is well-positioned to broaden the availability of structured credit products to our international clientele.”

"Max Roberts brings his extensive investment experience to PIM, which will translate into tremendous value for investors in our credit derivative product company, Pallium Finance," said Flavio Bartmann, Chief Executive Officer, PIM.

Roberts joins Pallium from Primus Guaranty (NYSE: PRS), one of the very first credit derivative product companies.  At Primus, he was Chief Trading Officer, responsible for identification and execution of investment opportunities.  Prior in his career, Roberts served as Head of Credit Derivative Trading at Wachovia Securities, and also worked at Merrill Lynch and Travelers Investment Management Company.
