BMO Bank of Montreal Opens New $1.3 million Branch in Mission

BMO Bank of Montreal continues to expand its retail presence in the Lower Mainland with the opening of a new $1.3 million bank branch in the rapidly growing residential community of Mission, British Columbia.

This is one of two new branches that the bank is opening today in the Lower Mainland – the other being a full-service retail branch in Burnaby B.C. In the last five months BMO has opened branches in Langley, Richmond, Mission and Burnaby as well as in Kamloops. Earlier this year, the bank announced that it will renovate 30 locations and open 15 new branches across Canada to make it more convenient for its customers to manage their finances.

The new Mission Hills branch, located in The Shops at Mission Hills Shopping Centre, at the corner of Lougheed Highway and Highway #11, is a full-service operation providing its clients with a complete range of financial services including loans, mortgages, and commercial and personal banking services.

“We look forward to welcoming our BMO customers to our new modern location. We are also excited to be able to introduce our services to many new customers who live and work in this area of Mission,” said Rob Serraglio, Vice President, Personal Banking, Greater Vancouver, BMO Bank of Montreal.

The ten-person branch, led by Branch Manager, Carol MacNeil, offers convenience services such as:

  • Extended banking hours: Monday to Thursday 9:30 - 4:00, Fridays 9:30 - 5:00 and Saturdays 9:30 to 4:00.
  • Two Instabank Extra Automated Banking Machines (ABMs)
  • Full wheelchair accessibility
  • A drive-through ABM and
  • Ample free on-site parking.

“Our job is to demonstrate to our customers that we are the only financial institution they will ever need, and I believe we have the staff; the products and services; and the location to prove it day in and day out,” said Ms. MacNeil. “Our customers can be sure they will be met by a professional ready to have a meaningful conversation that begins and ends with their needs.”

In 2006, BMO Financial Group contributed $32.1 million in corporate donations, sponsorships and events to support communities, charities and not-for-profit organizations across Canada. Locally, BMO provides major donations to organizations such as the United Way of the Lower Mainland, BCIT's new Aerospace Centre located near the Vancouver International Airport, Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia.

In British Columbia, BMO Financial Group has 3,000 employees and serves customers from 140 BMO Bank of Montreal branches, six BMO Nesbitt Burns offices and five BMO Harris Private Banking offices.
