BMO Bank of Montreal Opens New $1.5 Million Branch in Fort SaskatchewanBMO grows its retail branch presence to meet projected growth in ‘Upgrader Alley'

BMO Bank of Montreal today opened a new full service branch in Fort Saskatchewan, in anticipation of the expected growth in personal and business banking needs in Alberta's “Upgrader Alley”. The estimated $30 to $40 billion bitumen upgrader construction plans around Fort Saskatchewan, a twenty-minute drive from Edmonton, will require thousands of workers over the next decade.

“Our objective is to provide every one of our customers with a better banking experience each and every time they walk through our doors,” said Richard Parsons, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. “Our customers can be sure they will be met by a professional ready to have a meaningful financial discussion that begins and ends with their needs.”

The new 6,500 sq. ft. branch, which is located at 8725 - 94th street in the Cornerstone Power Center, has an expanded staff of 16 banking and investment professionals. Customers in Fort Saskatchewan will benefit from:

  • A highly experienced team of in-house experts – including personal and commercial banking managers, a financial planner, a mortgage specialist and a BMO Nesbitt Burns investment advisor;
  • Two Instabank Extra automated banking machines (ABM), including a drive-through ABM;
  • Ample parking for BMO customers;
  • And full wheelchair accessibility.

“We're excited about the prospects of growing alongside the community. We're in a great location in a high traffic, commercial and residential hub. We also have the staff, products and services to demonstrate to our customers that we are the only financial institution they will ever need,” said Chris Menard, BMO Bank of Montreal Personal Banking Area Manager.

BMO's Fort Saskatchewan branch will operate from:

  • 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays;
  • 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays;
  • And 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

BMO will hold an official branch opening event on Saturday, June 2nd, 2007, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

BMO first opened for business in Fort Saskatchewan in 1905. BMO Bank of Montreal now operates 106 branches in Alberta and employs more than 2,000 people in the province.
