BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (NYSE, TSX: BMO), has hired Jason Yuanxin Zhang, Ph.D., to the firm's U.S. Healthcare Equity Research Group.
Based in New York, Dr. Zhang has extensive experience covering biotechnology companies. He is joined by associate Samuel Kim. “Jason brings us a wealth of valuable industry knowledge, gleaned from years of hands-on biotech research,” said Jack Blackstock, Director of U.S. Equity Research, BMO Capital Markets. “His intensive work ethic and the resulting insights about the companies he covers have earned Jason an excellent reputation among institutional investors.”
For the past eight years, Dr. Zhang has been a research analyst covering biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals for Prudential Equity Group, Independent Research Group and Stephens Inc. While at Prudential, Dr. Zhang received a Top 5 ranking from StarMine based on stock picking of biotechnology companies. He was also awarded a four-star rating by StarMine in 2005 and 2006 for his recommendations of North American biotechnology stocks. Dr. Zhang has a Ph.D. in Cell, Molecular & Neurosciences/Botanic Sciences from the University of Hawaii and an MBA from Indiana University's Kelly School of Business. He served as a postdoctoral fellow at Indiana University's School of Medicine and as a postdoctoral scientist at Eli Lilly.
