BMO Financial Group is very pleased to congratulate Toronto FC's Maurice Edu, who was today named Major League Soccer's 2007 Gatorade Rookie of the Year. Edu, the first pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft and Toronto FC's first pick in team history, had an exceptional year in the club's inaugural season, scoring four goals and one assist in 25 games.
“Maurice Edu, who unveiled Toronto FC's BMO-branded jersey in March, was a special part of an amazing first year for the team at BMO Field,” said Frank Techar, President and Chief Executive Officer, Personal and Commercial Banking Canada, BMO Financial Group. “All BMO employees congratulate Maurice for his great season. We can't wait to see him and his teammates back in April 2008!”
