TORONTO, June 23, 2008 – BMO Financial Group has discovered another hero in the community of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to make Toronto a better place to live. Toni Canale Parola was honoured as the BMO Community Hero of the Game during Saturday's match between Toronto FC and the Kansas City Wizards at BMO Field.

Toni's volunteer work is focused on the youth in his community where he is in charge of organizing youth events and activities for The Cervaro Cultural Society and has helped start an indoor youth recreational soccer league with the New Life Christian Church Indoor Soccer League.

Toni contributes much of his time to his community by becoming involved in numerous fundraisers and community programs and organizations. He has participated in various fundraising events such as Easter Seals 24 hour relay, Becel Ride for Heart, ALS hike and Icewave indoor beach volleyball in support of Sick Kids Hospital.

Toni appeared on the jumbotron and his name and story were announced in-stadium and he was on the field to do the coin toss with the two captains and referees to kick off Saturday's match. He received two Toronto FC jerseys and two tickets to upcoming Toronto FC game.

As part of the bank's presenting sponsorship agreement with the team, BMO Financial Group and the Toronto FC are joining forces to recognize a BMO Community Hero of the Game before every Toronto FC home game this year. The program recognizes individuals who generously give their time and talents to help our communities thrive. Nomination forms are available at torontofc.ca.
