BMO Banks on Growth with Plans for $1.7 Million Branch in South East Saskatoon

SASKATOON, SK, August 18, 2008 – BMO Bank of Montreal today announced that it will open a new full-service branch in South East Saskatoon near the Lakewood Shopping Centre in the spring of 2009 so that it can better serve customers in this fast growing suburban neighbourhood. Construction began the first week of June on the 5,000 square foot, one-story building.

“We'll be adding staff and moving existing staff from current branches to this new location so customers can be sure they will be met by experienced and knowledgeable banking professionals,” said Tracey MacLean, Personal Banking Area Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal.

This will be a major branch with 15 employees including a Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, Financial Services Managers, Customer Service Representatives and a Financial Planner. People looking for new challenges and career advancement in the financial services sector will be able to apply beginning later this year. The new Lakewood BMO Branch, near Trounce Pond Park on the eastern edge of the City, will be able to provide customers:

  • A highly experienced team of financial professionals – including a financial planner, a mortgage specialist and a BMO Nesbitt Burns investment advisor;
  • Two Instabank Extra automated banking machines (ABM), including a drive-through ABM;
  • Ample free parking for BMO customers and;
  • Full wheelchair accessibility.

We will be serving a large residential area and as such will have convenient extended hours of operation for our customers:

  • Monday, Tuesday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and
  • Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
