BMO Financial Group Wins Prestigious International Six Sigma & Business Improvement Awards
TORONTO,
October 30, 2008 – BMO Financial Group collected
three Global Six Sigma & Business Improvement Awards at a gala
presentation in Orlando, Florida on October 15th, including the Platinum
Award for Most Outstanding Organizational Achievement, the top award
from amongst all companies nominated in all categories.
The annual awards
recognize companies from around the world for outstanding achievements
through the deployment of business improvement programs.
These wins build
upon the awards BMO received last year for Best Achievement of Integrating
Lean and Six Sigma and Best Achievement
of Six Sigma in Financial Services.
In bestowing the
Platinum Award, international judges consider strategic relevance,
value generation, customer benefits, innovation,
implementation
and leadership engagement. Judges characterized BMO's
deployment as “one of the best integrated Lean Six
Sigma implementations” and
noted BMO's “excellent deployment within the
financial category”.
BMO has successfully
completed more than 295 projects and has generated significant productivity,
processing and customer
service improvements
since introducing the Six Sigma program and Lean methodologies
into its operations in 2005.
“I am very
pleased with the financial benefits and breakthrough performance achieved
by our Lean Six Sigma deployment to date. BMO has received
an exceptional rate of return on its investment and these
awards recognize the level of proficiency, value and results Lean Six
Sigma
is bringing to BMO,” says Karen Metrakos, Executive Vice-President,
Operations, BMO Financial Group.
