BMO Guardian Funds Win Four Awards at the Canadian Investment Awards Ceremony

TORONTO, December 8, 2008 – Four BMO Guardian Funds were recognized at the 14th annual Canadian Investment Awards ceremony held in Toronto on December 3. The Canadian Investment Awards recognize the best investment products in the Canadian financial services industry.

The winning funds include:

  • BMO Guardian Global Technology Fund (formerly GGOF Global Technology Fund), managed by Walter Price of RCM, won top honours in the Science and Technology Equity Fund category;
  • BMO Guardian Asian Growth and Income Fund (formerly GGOF Asian Growth and Income Fund), managed by Paul Matthews of Matthews International Capital Management LLC, won top honours in the Asian Equity Fund category;
  • BMO Guardian Enterprise Fund (formerly GGOF Enterprise Fund), managed by Martin Ferguson of Mawer Investment Management Ltd., took silver in the Canadian Small/Mid Cap Equity Fund (> 50 per cent Canada) category; and
  • BMO Guardian European Equity Fund (formerly GGOF European Equity Fund), managed by Matt Beckendorf of Vontobel Asset Management Inc., took silver in the European Equity Fund category.
