TORONTO, December 17, 2008 – BMO Financial Group (TSX, NYSE: BMO) today announced that its 2008 Annual Report to Shareholders, including Audited Annual 2008 Financial Statements and related Management's Discussion and Analysis, is now available online by visiting www.bmo.com/annualreport2008.

BMO has filed these materials with securities regulators and the materials are also available on the Canadian Securities Administrators' web site at www.sedar.com, and on the EDGAR section of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's web site at www.sec.gov.

Printed copies of BMO's 2008 Annual Report, along with the Proxy Circular and Notice for BMO's Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held on March 3, 2009 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, will be mailed to shareholders in late January, 2009.
