SASKATOON, SK, May 4, 2009 – BMO Bank of Montreal today officially opens its first branch in the fast growing Lakewood neighbourhood, located at 111 Slimmon Road, just east of Boychuk Drive.
“We are excited to bring BMO to this fast growing suburban neighbourhood in southeast Saskatoon,” said Michelle Tokarchuk, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. “With new, large premises and weekend hours, we will offer a wide range of financial services all under one roof.”

The branch is home to a team of 15 personal banking and investment professionals who are eager to provide a great customer experience to all new and existing BMO customers. In addition, there is a BMO Nesbitt Burns Investment Advisor, a financial planner, and a mortgage specialist located at the branch.
For added convenience, the new Lakewood branch features two ABMs for everyday financial transactions, including a drive-thru ABM, as well as ample free parking.

“Saskatchewan led the country with 4.4 per cent GDP growth in 2008 and is forecast to maintain the lead for 2009,” said Robert Kavcic, Economist, BMO Capital Markets. “On the back of strong economic fundamentals, employment growth in Saskatoon was a healthy 2.7 per cent year-over-year in the first quarter of 2009, while the 4.5 per cent unemployment rate was well below the national average.”
