Media Advisory/InvitationExperts Help Boomers in Kitchener/Waterloo Take Charge of Their Retirement
TORONTO,
May 27, 2009 – Recent economic events have shifted many
people's vision for retirement, and in such times it is especially
important to have a solid plan for the future.
BMO has invited clients from
the Kitchener/Waterloo area to gain new perspectives on the economy
and retirement issues facing boomers today
by attending this unique interactive retirement workshop featuring one
of Canada's most influential women, Dr. Sherry Cooper, as well
as author and retirement expert, Dr. Amy D'Aprix.
Dr. Cooper will provide insight
into the current economic situation and the impact it has on retirement,
while Dr. Amy D'Aprix will
lead an interactive workshop that explores retirement issues and their
financial implications.
“There have been lessons learned in this volatile period as many
have watched their hard-earned savings diminish,” said Dr. Cooper. “There
could be no better time to create or refresh your financial plan, and
restructure your portfolio to reflect the ‘new normal' environment.”
“The interactive workshops will help boomers set their thoughts
in motion about retirement goals that look beyond the first few years
of retirement or “the big dream”. Today, retirement can last
20 to 30 years and take on a number of different stages which most of
us overlook in our planning,” said Dr. D'Aprix.
