OTTAWA, July 15, 2009 On Saturday, July 18th, BMO Bank of Montreal is celebrating the re-opening of its expanded Bank & Hunt Club branch to accommodate the region's diverse and growing customer base.

Members of the community are invited to bring their families out to see the expanded premises, located at 2446 Bank Street. They will have the opportunity to meet with staff, including a financial planner, a BMO Nesbitt Burns professional and a Commercial Account planner. There will be a complimentary barbeque, entertainment for the kids and great give-aways, including an AIR MILES balloon-pop.

“Our staff welcomes customers to come in and let us help by making their money make sense,” said Layla Darwish, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. “Our new SmartSteps program offers five tips that can make a big difference today in how customers manage and save money.”

The newly renovated branch was designed to enhance both privacy and accessibility for clients. Enclosed offices will provide a more personal banking experience for customers and an enlarged banking hall will create a more open atmosphere.

“Ottawa's economy is supported by a diverse range of sectors including technology, education, and public institutions,” said Robert Kavcic, Economist, BMO Capital Markets. “As a result, the city has fared relatively well during the latest recession, with average house prices hitting a record level in the second quarter and the unemployment rate sitting at a modest 5.8%, well below the national level,” added Mr. Kavcic.

“To AIR MILES collectors in Ottawa, we have another reason for you to bank with BMO,” said James Quigley, District Vice President, Ottawa Seaway, BMO Bank of Montreal. “On August 3, BMO will introduce a new No-Fee BMO AIRMILES MasterCard that eliminates the $35 annual fee and doubles the earned rewards. At the same time, we are enhancing the benefits of the BMO Gold AIR MILES MasterCard and introducing a new BMO Preferred Rate MasterCard with a 17.5 per cent interest rate, which is lower than most no-fee cards in the market today. It's all part of our goal to provide customers with a simplified and enhanced suite of credit card products that will deliver lower costs, more rewards and make it easier for customers to choose a credit card that suits their needs.”
