EDMONTON, AB, August 17, 2009 – BMO Bank of Montreal today opened a new branch in The Meadows area of Edmonton at 2304 24th Street NW. This growing residential and commercial area, south of Whitemud Drive and east of 34th Street, is home to a diverse ethnic population. Matching employees to client needs, nine languages will be offered at The Meadows branch: English, German, Konkani, Gujarati, Hindi, Cantonese, Spanish, Urdu and Punjabi.
This brings the total number of full service branches in the Edmonton area to 26 and the number of branches in Alberta that receive clean, renewable electricity from Bullfrog Power to 23.

BMO's new branches in Edmonton are part of a green energy initiative in Alberta, B.C. and Ontario. BMO Financial Group is committed to purchase over 8,300 megawatt hours of emission free electricity annually from Bullfrog Power - generated from clean, renewable sources like wind power and low-impact hydro.
For added convenience, the new branch features two ABMs for everyday financial transactions including a full-service drive-thru ABM, as well as ample free parking for customers.

Thursday & Friday 9:30am – 7:00pm
Saturday 9:30am – 4:00pm
The grand opening celebration for BMO's The Meadows branch is set for Saturday, September 19.

On August 3, BMO introduced significant enhancements to its suite of credit card products that deliver lower costs and more rewards and make it easier for customers to choose a credit card that suits their needs. They include: a new No-Fee BMO AIR MILES MasterCard that eliminates the $35 annual fee and doubles the earned rewards; enhanced benefits of the BMO Gold AIR MILES MasterCard; and a new BMO Preferred Rate MasterCard with a 17.5 per cent interest rate, which is lower than most no-fee cards in the market today.
