Media Advisory BMO Capital Markets to Host North American Unconventional Resource Conference

NEW YORK, January 6, 2010 – BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (NYSE, TSX: BMO), will host its annual North American Unconventional Resource Conference on Tuesday, January 12 at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City.

Join the BMO Capital Markets Energy Research team for an in-depth discussion on developing unconventional oil and gas plays in North America. Management teams from more than 24 leading natural gas producers, oil sands developers, services companies and pipeline companies will be in attendance.

"Our unique conference will provide an opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders in the unconventional gas industry that are fundamentally reshaping North American natural gas markets," said Randy Ollenberger, Managing Director, BMO Capital Markets Energy Research team. This year's conference will also feature the major Canadian oil sands developers.

The conference is also set to feature two separate keynote speeches:

Porter Bennett, President & CEO, BENTEK Energy. Mr. Bennett will address the industry's operating efficiency gains, domestic supply growth of natural gas and infrastructure in bringing molecules to market. He will also discuss drilling economics of unconventional resource plays, from drill and complete costs to decline rates to estimated ultimate recoveries (EUR's).

Scott Rees, Chairman & CEO, Netherland, Sewell & Associates. Mr. Rees will address the fundamentals of unconventional resource plays, from reservoir qualities to well economics. He will also discuss the new reserve reporting standards, pricing, offset locations (horizontal drilling) and non-proved reserves, among other topics.
