TORONTO and MONTREAL, May 20, 2010 - BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (TSX, NYSE: BMO), announced today the appointments of SteveAubé and James McHale in its Canadian Debt Capital Markets Group.

Mr. Aubé joins as Managing Director and becomes the firm's first debt capital markets professional to be based in BMO's Montreal office. Mr. McHale is appointed Director and joins BMO's Toronto team.

Mr. Aubé was most recently at Citibank Canada in Montreal where he was Co-Head of the Canadian corporate derivatives business. He is well respected in the Montreal market for his strong client service across the corporate, government and money manager segments. Prior to his 11 years at Citibank, Mr. Aubé spent five years in BMO Capital Markets' investment and corporate banking group. He has an MBA from Cornell University and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.

Mr. McHale spent eight years with JP Morgan in New York in the leveraged finance group working across a broad range of industry sectors. He has executed more than 60 high-yield and leveraged lending transactions representing more than $40 billion in aggregate capital. Prior to obtaining his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario, Mr. McHale worked with BMO Capital Markets in the firm's investment and corporate banking and debt capital markets groups. He joins from Peak Ridge Capital, a private investment management firm in Boston.
