BMO Bank of Montreal Opens New Morgan Crossing Branch - Making Money Make Sense for South Surrey Customers

SURREY, BC, July 5, 2010 – BMO Bank of Montreal opened a new $1.1 million branch today, located at 15850-26th Avenue in South Surrey.

Branch Manager Colleen Duncan is part of a team of nine professionals serving South Surrey residents and businesses with personal and commercial financial services. Specialized roles within the branch include a financial planner, a BMO Nesbitt Burns investment advisor, a mortgage specialist, a commercial account manager and a BMO Harris Private Banking representative.

"BMO specifically chose to open a branch in the Morgan Crossing neighbourhood since it will be a "go to" area of the community with a mixture of small businesses, retailers and new residences. This location is a village concept which allows for tremendous community activities such as street fairs, parades, cultural events, farmers' markets and music festivals," added Ms. McFadden.

Special features within the branch include:

  • A unique roof top patio offering a venue for bank and community events
  • Two Instabank automated banking machines (ABMs)
  • Access to personal & commercial account and deposit services
  • Banking advice in eight languages including Cantonese, English, French, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin, Punjabi, and Taiwanese
  • Ample free parking and full wheelchair accessibility

Hours of operation for BMO's Morgan Crossing branch are:
Monday to Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thursday and Friday 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The new 5,000 square foot Morgan Crossing branch is Bullfrog powered. BMO is committed to purchase emission-free electricity from Bullfrog Power; generated from clean, renewable sources such as wind power and low impact hydro. The bank has significantly expanded its use of emission-free power for four bank facilities in British Columbia. This is in addition to the 149 BMO locations in Ontario, Alberta and the Atlantic provinces.
