MONTREAL and TORONTO, September 17, 2010 ― BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (TSX, NYSE: BMO) announced today that Luc Bachand has been appointed Head of its operations in Quebec.

As Vice-Chair and Head of BMO Capital Markets Quebec, Mr. Bachand will be responsible for senior relationship management of corporate, government and institutional clients as well as for facilitating coordination and cooperation between the various Quebec-based lines of business in BMO Capital Markets. He will report to Tom Milroy, CEO, BMO Capital Markets.

Luc succeeds Jacques Ménard, who among other things, served as Chair of BMO Capital Markets over the last decade. Mr. Ménard will continue to serve BMO Financial Group as President, BMO Financial Group, Quebec and as Chair of its regulated entity BMO Nesbitt Burns. In these roles he will report to Bill Downe, President and CEO, BMO Financial Group.
