BMO Capital Markets Expands U.S. Public Finance Group with New Hires
  • New additions in public finance strengthen BMO Capital Markets in Chicago, New York and San Francisco.
  • BMO hired five senior professionals in its Non-Profit Institutions Group covering health, education & cultural organizations, with particular focus on Strategy & Analytics
  • BMO has expanded with 450 new employees worldwide since last year, 189 in the United States

NEW YORK and CHICAGO, October 4, 2010 - BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (NYSE, TSX: BMO), has hired five senior public finance professionals to bolster its U.S. Public Finance Group in Chicago, New York and San Francisco. The new hires will provide investment banking services to non-profit institutions, including health, education and cultural organizations, with particular emphasis on strategy and analytics.

The new hires include:

Brett Whysel, based in New York, will lead the firm's Public Finance Strategy & Analytics as Managing Director, reporting to Lyle McCoy. Mr. Whysel brings 16 years of experience to BMO from financial firms including Ziegler, Citigroup Global Markets, and Merrill Lynch. He is a recognized industry leader in risk analytics development and risk consulting.

David Johnson, Managing Director and Head of BMO's Non-Profit Institutions Group, will be based in Chicago. Mr. Johnson brings more than 25 years of investment banking, strategic advisory and leadership experience from Citigroup Global Markets, Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers. 

Kerry Rudy, joins as a Managing Director in the Non-Profit Institutions Group in Chicago, bringing over 20 years of experience to BMO from financial firms including Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers.

Lisa Conley, joining the Chicago-based group as Director, will report to David Johnson. With over 15 years of financial experience, Ms. Conley was formerly a Director at Citi Markets and Banking. 

Jullia Quazi, joining the San Francisco office as Director, will also report to David Johnson. Ms. Quazi, a senior professional with over 10 years of experience, comes to BMO from Ziegler Capital Markets where she was Director of Healthcare Finance. 

These new additions demonstrate BMO's continued expansion, which includes 450 new employees worldwide since last year, with 189 of them in the United States.
